Do not build final artwork before the construction is confirmed
The cover dimensions, spine width, wrap area and printable zones depend on the finished binder construction and capacity. A file designed for one binder specification may not fit another. The safest workflow is to confirm the project specifications and then build or adapt artwork to the production template supplied for that configuration.
Think in panels
Binder artwork may involve a front cover, back cover and spine, plus wrap, bleed or non-print areas depending on construction. Keep critical logos and text away from folds, edges and hardware unless the final template specifically allows them there.
Use production-quality source artwork
Logos and typography are easiest to reproduce when supplied as suitable high-resolution or vector source files. Linked images, brand colors and fonts should be identified clearly. Exact file requirements can vary with the printing or decoration method.
Account for the spine
Spine width changes with binder capacity and construction. If the spine carries a title or logo, wait until the final spine specification is known before locking the artwork.
